Run Fat Boy Run
On the day of his wedding Dennis (Simon Pegg) makes the worst decision of his life...he leaves his pregnant lover at the alter. With the weight of the world on his shoulders Dennis pulls a Julia Roberts out the window, down the street, and is never to be seen again by the his girl or son until...

Five years later Dennis is working as a security guard in a ladies underwear store. Surprisingly, he has been invited back into his sons life. Now slightly over weight and a chain smoker, Dennis now feels not the pressure of marriage but the pressure of loneliness, lack of purpose, and the reality that he made a mistake.

Bucking up to the mirror and reciting his lines Dennis is ready for his big day. Soon after the knock he realizes the stereotypical dominant male has already moved in and stole the girl. Through a long chain of events he pronounces that he will finally finish something in his life. Proving to himself that he is an overcomer he enters himself into a Marathon that just so happens to be against his lovers new love.

Directed by David Schwimmer, Run Fat Boy Run offers nothing new to the romantic comedy genre. A couple cool comedic concepts and nifty ideas but for the most part your predictable cookie cutter date night movie. Pegg is the star of the show so obviously anyone who's a fan will no doubt enjoy themselves. I being one of those fans just kicked it back and absorbed the film for what it was... nothing more than a random Friday night at the cinema.

yeah it was definitely endure the romantic comedy predictable drivel in between Simon Pegg funny bits. and Hank Azaria does half of the Simpson voices so I always like seeing him....but maybe i saw too much of his this time. want some powder?

Oh man, I thought this movie was hilarious and awesome (I am a Simon Pegg fan).

Though, hadn't Dennis been a part of his son's life for quite a while already? I don't think 5 years later was the first time they saw each other, because they were already really comfortable around each other, and he would call him things like 'boogerface', and Libby would tell him "I've told you to stop calling him that!"

I think the only thing new that he wasn't there before was Hank Azaria's character.

Nick...yeah this 5 year element was a little confusing for me...

Because at the party he was like thank you for letting me back in his life...ahhh...well i guess now that i think about it and you talk about it you are right...

You are right...

I definitely laughed a bit...but still as far as a movie goes its entertaining but in the long run will not stand to anything.
Here's the thing I liked about this film. Sure the whole movie wasn't blow you away hysterical, but the moments that had my attention (the blister, the wall, the tree) were 4 star scenes and more importantly, easy to transition into. There were amazing scenes, and the rest of the movie didn't ruin the quality of those scenes for me. Overall not as good as I had hoped, but definately a blast. Plus I love having a bit of that brit humor every once in a while. I love the scenes that are just combinations long awkward shots of Pegg's befuddled expressions... haha.
oh yes... and "the powder". Forgot to add that to my scenes :)

Do you see my point?

Ya know, I liked this movie a lot as well. I'd say it's a 3.
Better than Hot Fuzz but not nearly as funny as Shaun.

Better than Hot Fuzz?!?!? Maybe in Canada.

Yeah, I don't think it was better than Fuzz...

I'd say, in order... Shaun, Fuzz, Fatboy.

I can't wait for them to make the third movie in their ice cream and blood trilogy (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called).

I dont even count Fat boy with Shaun or Fuzz. Although it involves Pegg Wright and Frost are absent and without at least Wright behind the helm it doenst count to me.

They announced their next movie. Its called The End of the World(or something close)...its going to be sci fi....YESSSSssss.
yeah. I would not mention this in the same sentence with Shaun and Fuzz... of course depending on how you look at it, I just did.
