This past Tuesday I rushed over to my local DVD store on my work break just to by the new special edition of Michael Mann's Heat. I was not disappointed. Heat is a captivating story about the relationship and respect between a master thief(DeNiro) and his arch enemy detective(Pacino).

Michael Mann carries the audience through with one of the most intense crime epics on the screen. Visually this movie is grade A. But th audio is what gets me. The sound effects and music are the best yet for this type of movie. Believe me when I say the gun shots sounds real. There is no Hollywood cheesy sounding gunfire in this movie. To me that is important.

The acting is also another huge bonus. Hollywoods finest actors are scattered throughout the entire movie. Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Ashley Judd, Natalie Portman, Jon Voight, and many more whose faces will definitely be recognized. Not to mention this is the first time since the Godfather that Pacino and DeNiro have shared a piece of celluloid. It will probably be the last.

If you have not seen the movie I think you are definitely missing out. An instant classic.
