One of the things I did like about this movie was the feel. It reminded me of "Open Water" in the way it was filmed and the movie's quality. Story wise there really wasn't anything too terribly original except for maybe the fact that you get to know your serial killer and actually start to like him until he goes ape poop on you. The movie is Austrailian and the accents and scenery are great. The film was shot well but I would have to say the writing was one of the weak points. There were your typical border line disturbing moments near the beginning of all the mayhem but soon enough it slipped back into the deep unavoidable rutt of cliched horror movies. I thought the lead female was really cool. She reminded me of a Keira Knightly...almost. The lead male was a dufus for the most part but I thought he handled one confrontation extremely well and I almost started to admire him until he slipped back into nonacting. The other girl was nothing great nor bad. She was just there (actually on the contrary she took the brunt of the serial killer...well maybe not, it depends on how you look at it. As I touched on before alot of the shots especially late in the movie were really nice. For the most part though I am going to have to say I would've rather of seen something a bit more cheery on Christmas night. I am not going to recommend it partly because the dorks in the theater (everyone except me) started booing at the sudden abrupt ending) and because the reasons I liked it are not going to be the reasons you went to see it.
