You've seen the story a hundred times. Rise above anything that holds you back and fight for a dream nearly lost.

In the same vein as "Rudy", the film follows Vince Papali played by Mark Wahlberg as he attends open tryouts for the Philly Eagles and becomes the only unlikely player to make the team. With a little bit of friendship, a touch of love, and a lot of determination Wahlberg carries the team into one of the years better feel good movies.

I would be lying if I said I didn't get a little bored. I guess the important thing is I felt encouraged walking out of the theater.

The coolest thing was hearing my dad talk about how he remembered when the real story happened while he was in high school.
The acting was descent and the story inspiring. There were also some cool new approaches to football cinematography. What else could you ask for.

AH!!! I've got a sweet tooth for "real" sport stories so I've got to give this one the better than Rudy award. Rudy was freaking boring to me, just like the original "longest yard" was boring in comparison to the new one with Adam Sandler. Maybe it's a generation thing...

Ha...i hear. They are just all feeling like the same movie to me. Friday Night Lights and Varsity Blue have been the cool breezes of sports movies to me. Everything else is a cookie cutter of a classic.
