Olive is a little girl with a dream: winning the Little Miss Sunshine contest. Her family wants her dream to come true, but they are so burdened with their own quirks, neuroses, and problems that they can barely make it through a day without some disaster befalling them.(imdb.com)
Sunshine was an excellent film. The score, acting, camera work, directing, and story were all top notch amazing. The film carries its character with such depressing grace that when they fall you fall.
It is one of those films where you want to laugh because you cant believe what you are hearing and seeing but after you have actually processed the situation you think you are going to cry. I was emotionally confused the entire film. When the film steps up and delivers its message you even feel a little week in the knees.
An amazing little independent film. Highly recommend.
Olive: Grandpa, do you think I'm pretty?
Grandpa: Olive, you are the most beautiful girl in the whole world!
Olive: Nah you're just saying that...
Grandpa: No I'm not kidding I'm madly in love with you, and it's not because of your brains or your personality
