Idiocracy

Private Joe Bauers(Luke Wilson), the definition of "average American", is selected by the Pentagon to be the guinea pig for a top-secret hibernation program. Forgotten, he awakes 500 years in the future. He discovers a society so incredibly dumbed-down that he's easily the most intelligent person alive.

I thought the concept was amazing and that there was SOOOO much they could have done with it. So much. When I heard Mike Judge(Office Space) was directing with a Cohen brother at his side I figured it couldn't go wrong.
The opening intro is awesome. It explains how our society got down to stupid and shows about a 5-10 minute family tree expose. At this point I am still pretty pumped.

Enter Luke Wilson and the movie spirals down the drain. I honestly have nothing against the chap other than picking on a specific friend of mine(also another friend of mine ran in to him at one of those Hollywood type parties and he asked for some blow...ha) Anyway....his and almost everyone else sucked. Actually the best actors were the ones who were supposed to act dumb.

I actually feel dumb while writing this review...this is what is going through my head to write.

"Dis movie was good...then went bad wheel fast...stayed bad...cept a couple smiley moments involving a TV show where a man hits himself in da balls the whole time slot...nothing else was funny...but great idea Mr. Judge...but you don't get a cookie for good ideas...mmmm coooookiiieeeee."

So there you have it in a nutshell. Undoubtedly many of you comedy watchers will enjoy Idiocracy more than I. Maybe if you own Beerfest you will be the type to appreciate this kinda movie. But as for me and my house I am going to play dumb that I ever saw it and stick to Office Space and...HAHA...Dumb and Dumber! How ironic.
